Photography has taught me to look closer. At light. At people. At the moments in between. This journal is a collection of thoughts, experiences and stories from more than twenty years behind the camera — about natural light, portrait photography, creativity, confidence, black and white, human connection and everything that happens before, during and after a photograph is made. Some of these stories are about photography. Some are about people and some are simply about learning to pay attention. Because in the end, photography is not only about the picture you create. It is about what you see before you press the shutter.
